Flavor Notes: Vanilla, Caramel, Orange, Tangerine
This washed coffee from Huila, Colombia comes to us through the Huila Condor Project, a community-focused initiative led by 96 women producers across Pitalito, Timaná, and Bruselas. Grown at elevations between 1,500 and 1,900 meters, this Caturra and Castillo lot reflects both careful farming and intentional processing.
In the cup, it’s clean and comforting with a natural sweetness—think vanilla and caramel—balanced by bright, citrus-forward acidity. Notes of orange and tangerine bring freshness, with subtle fruity undertones that keep the cup lively without being overwhelming.
The coffee is traditionally washed, starting with hand-selected ripe cherries, followed by a 24–36 hour fermentation and slow sun-drying over 15–20 days. The result is a transparent, dependable profile that clearly expresses place and process.
This coffee matters to us not only because it tastes great, but because of how it’s produced. The Huila Condor Project prioritizes long-term relationships, quality education, fair and direct payment. It’s the kind of work we believe in—coffee that’s done thoughtfully, supports real people, and stands on its own in the cup.
