Ferney’s journey into the world of coffee began with a gift from his paternal grandfather, a plot of land with approximately two hundred coffee trees. At the age of 14, Ferney started cultivating this precious crop, and it has been a deeply rewarding experience. Over the years, he has mastered the intricacies of coffee management, cultivation, and processing. Ferney’s gratitude runs deep, as growing coffee has enabled him to achieve everything he has today.

For Ferney, producing high-quality coffee hinges on three essential factors: a meticulous process, precise harvesting, and thorough cleaning. These elements ensure that each bean reaches its full potential. However, the path of a coffee producer is fraught with challenges. Ferney has faced numerous difficulties, including delays in payments, climate changes, price fluctuations, transportation issues, and buyers unwilling to pay fair prices. Despite these obstacles, Ferney’s resilience and dedication have kept him moving forward.

To maintain the health and productivity of his coffee plants, Ferney ensures they receive clean and effective fertilization. Sustainability is a core value in his farming practices. He carefully treats the organic waste, honey water, and employs living barriers to protect the environment and enhance his farm’s ecosystem.

In Ferney’s community, coffee is more than just a crop; it is the economic lifeblood of the region. Understanding its importance, Ferney collaborates with fellow producers, generously sharing his knowledge to help everyone produce high-quality coffee. What Ferney enjoys most about being a coffee producer is witnessing the fruits of his labor manifest in the form of exceptional coffee quality and receiving fair compensation for his efforts. He dreams of one day acquiring the proper machinery to further refine his coffee processing.

When it comes to enjoying his own brew, Ferney prefers to prepare his coffee in a pot, sweetened with panela. He drinks an average of seven cups a day, each one a celebration of his hard work and dedication. In his free time, Ferney loves to take walks with his children and visit his extended family.

Our Approach to Transparency

At Euphoria, transparency begins with relationships. We believe that great coffee is rooted in mutual trust, respect, and shared commitment, long before it ever reaches your cup.

Instead of focusing solely on numbers or certifications, we prioritize long-standing partnerships with the farmers who grow our coffee. Some of these relationships have been years in the making, built through consistent communication, shared goals, and genuine care for one another’s success.

We believe the length of these relationships is one of the most meaningful indicators of transparency. A farmer would not choose to work with us year after year if we were cutting corners, negotiating unfairly, or treating their work as anything less than the craft it is. When both sides continue to return, it’s because the partnership is healthy, respectful, and mutually beneficial.

For some of our newer relationships, the foundation is the same: direct access and open communication are non-negotiable. We do not pursue sourcing situations where we can’t talk directly with the people producing the coffee, nor do we enter relationships that don’t have the potential to grow into something long-term. Our goal is always consistency, trust, and shared success, not one-time transactions.

Whenever possible, we visit our producing partners face to face. Sitting down together, walking their farms, and experiencing their work firsthand is invaluable. These moments deepen our connection and help ensure that our sourcing practices reflect our values in real, tangible ways.

When you enjoy our coffee, you’re supporting real people, real families, and real histories, thoughtfully connected across the world. That’s the heart of what we do, and that’s the kind of transparency we’re proud to stand behind.
